Micro:bit Camp (December 2017)

Dec 19-21 and 27-29. The Mirco:bit was just released so we had 2 Camps in this December. We had many hands-on activities for the youth to go along with the Micro:bit. The first project was the Egg and Spoon Race when the kids had to build a hand-held paddle with the Micro:bit on top. They then coded the Micro:bit to sound when the tilt is deviated within 1 degrees. Another project was constructing a Milk Carton Monster with the opening and closing of the jaws (controlled by a servo motor). The tweens also dabbled with Neopixel-an 8 x LED-and coded a rainbow light show. Finally, the kids had a blast on the final day when they coded and played an electro-football game constructed from aluminum foil and an old shoebox.
